Come learn how to show your dog.

The Afternoon Handling classes are held from 4-5PM on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Tuesday of each month at Just Dogs Academy located at Animal Ark Veterinary Hospital, 3515 Lawrence St., Clemmons, NC 27012. Park in the lot across the street. Classes are behind the hospital and held upstairs.

Please check our Events & Activities page in advance to be sure classes are being held, classes do not run 12 months out of the year!

Join the fun and get expert advice and training on showing your dog.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

  • What type of lead is best for your dog.

  • What type of standing position to place your dog for judging.

  • How to Gait your dog (Walk with your dog with a show strut).

  • How to travel around in the ring with your dog and approach a judge.

  • And many other little helpful tips when showing your dog in Conformation.

COST

Handling Classes are Pay-As-You-Go. Prices per class:

  • For Forsyth Kennel Club Members:

    • $7.00/class

    • Punch card for $28 for 5 classes (includes 1 free class)

    • Punch card for $42 for 7 classes (includes 1 free class)

    • Punch card for $56 for 9 classes (includes 2 free classes)

  • Non-Kennel club members

    • $12/class

    • Punch card for $48 for 4 classes (includes 1 free class)

    • Punch card for $72 for 6 classes (includes 1 free class)

    • Punch card for $108 for 9 classes (includes 2 free classes)

NOTES:

Closed for class: When Forsyth County school are closed or let out early because of weather we will not have Handling classes

NOTE:  If inclement weather (snow, flooding, etc.) prevents Forsyth County Schools from operating, all Handling Classes scheduled for that day will be cancelled.

**Make sure you have a signed a FKC/WSDTC Waiver on file, waiver forms are available on site.

***Please have your dog’s vaccine records available for review, if needed during your visit. Rabies, Distemper/Parvo are required, Bordetella recommended. All dog bites require animal control to be notified. If proof is not available, officials can hold your dog until proof is provided.
